how to actually improve

Most typing advice is generic. Your weaknesses aren't.

"Practice daily" and "use proper finger placement" are true, but they don't tell you what to actually work on. Keypace's coach analyzes your real keystroke data — which characters you miss, which letter pairs slow you down, whether your accuracy or your endurance is the real limiter — and tells you exactly that, then builds a drill around it.

Your "wh" bigram is averaging 314ms — over 4× slower than your baseline. For someone typing at 132 WPM, that kind of bottleneck really stands out. This isn't a guess — it's measured directly from your keystroke timing, then used to build a drill specifically around that transition.

Why "just practice more" isn't specific enough

Typing speed isn't one skill — it's dozens of small ones stacked together: how fast your fingers move between specific letter pairs, how often you fumble particular characters, whether your accuracy holds up as you speed up, whether your pace decays over a longer passage. Generic practice improves all of these a little. Targeted practice on your actual weak point improves the one thing that's genuinely holding your average down — which is a much faster path to a higher number.

The catch is that most people don't actually know which of those dozens of things is their real bottleneck. That's the part a deterministic diagnostic engine can answer that a "type more" tip never will.

How the diagnosis actually works

1
Take a normal typing test
No special setup — just type. Every keystroke's timing and correctness gets recorded locally as you go.
2
A deterministic engine finds your actual limiter
Not AI guesswork — real measured error rates per character, real measured delays per letter pair, compared against your own baseline. It checks accuracy, consistency, specific characters, punctuation, and endurance, in that priority order.
3
A tailored drill gets built from that exact finding
If your "wh" bigram is the bottleneck, the drill is packed with "wh" transitions — not generic word lists. You can also just ask the coach directly for a specific drill, and it'll build one grounded in your real data.
4
It keeps learning across sessions
A persistent weakness profile builds up over time, so the coach can work even if you haven't tested today — and you can see specific things you've actually gotten better at, like a bigram's timing dropping over the weeks.

Frequently asked

Is the diagnosis actually AI, or just a script?
The diagnosis itself — what your weak point is — is fully deterministic: real measured numbers, no AI guessing involved. The AI coach explains that finding in plain language and can hold a conversation about it, but it never invents the underlying data.
How many tests before it can diagnose anything useful?
A single test already produces a diagnosis for that session. A persistent, cross-session profile (so the coach works even without a fresh test) kicks in after about 5 completed tests.
Do I need to create an account?
No — you can test and get diagnosed immediately. An account just syncs your history and personal bests across devices.
